In addition to wheel building, Pinnacle Wheel Works became well know for professional level mechanics. On October 7, 2013 Pinnacle Wheel Works opened the doors of its retail location at 2251 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, Florida.
Who We Are
Pinnacle Wheel Works is made up of Chris, and Craig.
Chris created Pinnacle Wheel Works in 2010. He began working in bike shops when he was 15 as a part time job. It wasn't until nearly 2 years later he found a passion for cycling after mountain biking one day. Since then he has been a student of cycling, trying to learn all he can of every facet of cycling. In 2008 he went to United Bicycle Institute for Advanced Mechanics, Shop Operation, Wheel Building, and Suspension Technician. He was a race mechanic for the Whole Athlete / Specialized mountain bike team during 2013 - 2017. He has 16 years and counting of learning, researching, and experience in the cycling industry. Chris has raced mountain bikes (XC-2, 100 miles, 6 hours), road (Cat 3), and cyclocross (Cat 2).
Craig has been a lifelong rider involved in friendly local competition. His fondest memory is dropping Chris on a group ride when Chris was 16. Trained as a mechanical engineer, he was a personal and community mechanic until starting more formal training with Chris in 2018. Biking technology is constantly evolving, and Craig embraces the challenge of staying ahead of those changes as well as problem solving the issues that arise from them. He has completed Shimano certifications in hydraulic disc brake, DI2, mountain drivetrain, road drivetrain, wheel and hub, and STEPS e bike mechanics.
